IND vs PAK: “It’s wrong” – Harbhajan Singh slams former Pakistan coach Mohammad Amir for his remarks on Abhishek Sharma | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has expressed support for young Indian batter Abhishek Sharma after former Pakistan coach Mohammad Amir called him a ‘slogger’ ahead of the big India vs Pakistan match of the 2026 T20 World Cup. Harbhajan strongly disagreed with Amir’s comment and said that Abhishek was a competent and competent batsman, not someone who blindly hit the ball.

Amir had previously made the remark during a speech on a Pakistani television show, sparking a debate before the high-voltage clash. Reacting, Harbhajan praised Abhishek’s batting ability and consistency. He said: “Abhishek Sharma is a quality player, and he is a player who is determined to win matches on his own. And not just once, but he can do it again and again. I have played cricket and I know he is a good hitter who has all the shots; a lot of drummers don’t have all the shots. A slogger is someone who only sees the ball and hits; if it connects, great, and if it doesn’t, that’s great too. He’s not like that. He hits the first ball. And as long as he’s on the field, he keeps hitting. So he’s a real drummer.”Harbhajan also said that it was unfair that critics who never fought against Abhishek were judging him. He added, “People can say whatever they want. Because, in my opinion, I don’t think they have ever played in front of such a hitter, and therefore, it is wrong to say that Abhishek is a hitter.”He urged Abhishek to prove his talent on the field, saying, “If I give you the definition of a slogger, then many people will get angry. So, I don’t want to say that. Because we don’t operate at that level and they say something and we react again and again. “But, anyway, I will say, Abhishek, show us tomorrow what you showed us before. And show us what Abhishek can do. And I have a lot of hope from Abhishek. And if he plays long, then the Indian team will set a very long score.”
